GRAVESEND REGATTA RULES - SKIFF RACING
|
|
It is the crew and coxswain's responsiblity to check the equipment prior to the start of the race. Any fault should be notified
immediately prior to the start.
Any coxswain who feels he does not have sufficient scull room or a safe clear course should raise his arm.
It is the coxswain's responsiblity to be aware of the course to be rowed, and all actions of the crew to be carried out under
his control. The coxswain will be well advised to listen to the instructions of the umpire.
Should the umpire feel that a restart is required, all crews will listen to instructions given. Failure to comply may result in
disqualification.
On approach to a buoy-turn, the lead boat has always got right of way.
During the race, coxswains are required to respond promptly to any directions given by the umpire.
In the event of a dispute or objection, the coxswain and only the coxswain must report to the race control centre. After
considering the objection, a decision will be made by the officials and announced.
Any objections or decisions made by the umpire will be made in consultation with members of the committee.
A full set of racing rules and conditions will be available at the PA caravan.
